AAUA dumps ASUU strike, orders students to resume on Monday.

Things appear to be falling apart for the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike as the authorities of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) has ordered its students back to school by Monday.

Sources say the institution’s registrar, R.B Olotu sent a circular to staff and students to resume academic activities by Monday, November 25, 2013 without delay.

In a circular titled, “Resumption for the 2nd Semester 2012/2013 session”, Olotu said lectures are to commence next week.

All Students of AAUA are hereby informed that academic activities of the 2nd semester of 2012/2013 session truncated as a result of the ASUU national strike are to resume on Mon., 25th Nov, 2013 with the continuation of registration on the University portal while lectures are to start on Mon, 2nd Dec., 2013.

This circular effectively signifies a boycott of the nationwide strike of lecturers which has dragged on for over four months.

Unconfirmed reports, however, indicate that the AAUA lecturers have vowed not to return to classes until the strike is offficially called off.
