The police in Kogi State yesterday refuted reports of an attack on a military vehicle by suspected Boko Haram members in the state. They were reacting to a news report yesterday which said suspected Boko Haram members, at a location between Okene and Lokoja, attacked some soldiers who were going to Kotangora in Niger State for training before proceeding to Borno and Adamawa states.
Police Public Relations officer (PPRO) Aguebor Elvis said the report is not true. A security source told our reporter that it was an armed robbery attack.
According to him, the soldiers were travelling in a commercial bus, and the armed robbers ran into the bush when they realised that the occupants were soldiers.
